Adaption is the process by which organisms change to become better suited to the environment, in this case white fur to blend in with the snow and avoid predators.

Competition is when individuals compete for resources and mates.

Metabolism is the breakdown of food for energy.

So Adaptation is the answer.

Well, I feel the answer is adaption because when the fur colour changes to white during the winter, It helps it move around without being easily spotted by both predator and prey.
The answer can not be competition because the turning of fur to white during the winter does not give it selective advantage over any animal that competes with it for resources which is a major feature of competition.
Definitely it isn't metabolism since it is not enzyme catalyzed and does not lead to the breakdown or formation of something.
