Why do locations in the southern hemisphere show smaller annual temperature variations when compared with the northern hemisphere?

The variation difference in annual temperature between the southern and the northern hemisphere is due to the fact that the southern hemisphere has a large quantity of water area compare to the northern hemisphere which has large mass of land. The large body of water in the southern hemisphere helps in regulating the tempratrue of the area and keep it fairly constant.
