Aplant absorbs energy from the sun. where does the energy go from there? all of the energy is transferred to primary consumers. all of the energy is used by the plant. all of the energy is released as heat energy. some of the energy is stored in the plant's tissues and the rest is released as heat energy.

The process of photosynthesis is not efficient. The transfer of energy from one trophic level to another is also not efficient. In these biochemical processes, heat is lost in the process. Therefore, during photosynthesis, only a portion of the sun’s energy is converted to carbohydrates and consequently plant tissue. Also, when primary consumers eat plants, they only get 30% of the energy in the plant biomass. The other is lost as heat.   This is due to the law of entropy.
