cells. These blood cells are not able to properly transport oxygen. Carriers
(heterozygotes) of this trait are resistant to a deadly disease called malaria,
that is spread by parasites. Malaria is a common disease in Africa. Based on
the information provided, why do you think sickle cell anemia is more
common in Africa, even though it is such a deadly illness?
