Evolutionary Tree / Sorting Activity Create your own tree-branching model to organize the beetles based on ages and similarities in structures.
You can do this activity in different ways - depending on your resources and what helps you understand:
1. If you have a printer, you could print this document and cut out and arrange the beetles.
2. If you don't have a printer, write the letters on a piece of paper, cut them out and arrange them.
3. Or, just write the letters on a piece of paper in an organized tree-branching model.
A, B and C are modern-day beetles, while the others are fossils. The numbers in parentheses tell how many
millions of years old the fossils are, based on absolute dating.
