Place the following steps of retail floral processing in order = Remove plastic sleeves
= Strip foliage and thorns from stems to minimize decay in plant materials
= Place in containers with water and floral preservatives at room temperature for at least one hour
= Cut stems to allow for water uptake
= Place flowers in cooler
= Open boxes upon arrival
