RESPOND THOUGHTFULLY TO THIS DISCUSSION POST. The Question: How do the cellular proteins function (and coordinate) to accurately permit cell division? Describe at least one protein and its associated functions to support your answer.

The Person's Cellular proteins vary from being markers to forming rings that precede septation. They must coordinate by being active or inactive at a given time in the cell division process. For example, FtsZ is inactive in the cytoplasm while DNA replication is occurring. If it were active during this time, septation would occur prematurely. FTsZ forms the Z-ring which results in septum forming and thus septation.

Another example would be TipN. This protein marks the site of new poles in new cells and the location of the flagella. If this did not function, it would interfere with the overall shape of the new cells.

Coat color in cats is determined by genes at several different loci. at one locus on the x chromosome, one allele (x ) encodes black fur and another allele (xo) encodes orange fur. females can be black (x x ), orange (xoxo), or a mixture of orange and black called tortoiseshell (x xo). males are either black (x y) or orange (xoy). bill has a female tortoiseshell cat named patches. one night, patches escapes from bill\'s house, spends the night out, and mates with a stray male. patches later gives birth to the following kittens: one orange male, one black male, two tortoiseshell females, and one orange female. what are the genotypes of patches, the stray male, and the kittens?
