Đặc điểm của loài rết

Rết là loài động vật thân đốt, thon dài, mỗi đốt có một đôi chân. Số lượng chân của mỗi loài rết rất đa dạng, từ dưới 20 cho đến trên 300 chân.  Một đặc điểm dễ nhận thấy của rết là cặp kìm ở trước miệng có thể tiết nọc độc vào kẻ thù, được hình thành từ một cặp phần phụ miệng. Hầu hết các loài rết là động vật ăn thịt.
