4. CONDUCT AN EXPERIMENT OR TEST THE HYPOTHESIS We made a prediction that ice will melt faster in juice than in water, and now we must test our hypothesis. We set up an experiment with a glage of juice, a glass of water and an ice cube for each. For the best experiments, only one thing should change! Here, we are changing the type of liquid we use but keeping the ice cube, the temperature, and measurements of the liquid the same. If too many factors change at once, you cannot accurately state what the results are, The liquids should be roughly the same temperature (as close as possible) and measured to the same amount, so we left them out to come to room temperature. This could also be tested right out of the fridge! Set up a stopwatch or set a time limit to observe the changes!

Error analysis: what might be the reason that some of your percentages didn't exactly match your predicted results? gametes aren't responsible for inheritance. mice don't have large litters, so the sample size was not large enough. the wrong type of mice were used.

Astudent sees several ants walking up a wall following the exact same trail that an ant took earlier. she wants to apply the scientific method to determine how the ants detected the trail. which of these steps would come first in her application of the scientific method? perform an experiment by cleaning the scent away from part of the trail. draw a conclusion that the ants follow a scent trail. make a prediction about what the ants will do after she cleans away part of the trail. hypothesize that the ants are following a scent trail that the first ant left.
