La fotosíntesis es importante para los organismos vivos porque es la fuente número uno de oxígeno en la atmósfera. Sin la fotosíntesis, el ciclo del carbono no podría ocurrir, la vida que requiere oxígeno no sobreviviría y las plantas morirían.
