Lipids can be broken down to use in aerobic respiration. When one triglyceride is broken down for use in this process the glycerol will have a phosphate group in a reaction. This reaction is thermodynamically because a functional group is being added to a molecule. The glycerol with a phosphate group on it is now G3P. If this G3P enters aerobic respiration at the site where all G3P are made, ATPs (total by any means) can be made.
