Exponential Growth of a Population - When the birth rate of a population exceeds the death rate, a population will grow. If this
occurs at a constant rate, the population will grow exponentially. To illustrate this, assume that
two sexually reproducing individuals produce ten offspring. Assume that half are females in
each succeeding generation and that each female produces ten offspring. Plot a curve on
Graph I to show the growth of this population for 6 generations. To make things simpler,
assume that parents die as soon as offspring are produced.
