Colorblindness is a sex-linked recessive trait. In the first generation, a normal male marries a heterozygous female. The couple has three girls, Karen, Doja, and Megan. Each girl marries. Karen has five children: three girls and two boys. Doja has two children: a boy and a girl. Megan has four children, all girls. One of Karen’s sons is colorblind and one of her daughters is colorblind. What does this tell us about Karen’s genotype? What is her husband’s genotype? If Doja married a normal male, what is the chance that her son is colorblind? (You may need to scratch out a pedigree and/or Punnet Square to help you answer the question.)
