Prior to the discovery of Nanog, it was already known that Oct4 is not required to make a blastocyst, but is required for correct differentiation of the blastocyst. Design an experiment that would test whether Nanog expression requires Oct4 function in an intact embryo. Clearly state your experimental procedures, and your expectations if in fact Nanog expression depends on Oct4 function.
