a) Helicase enzyme opens up the double helix
b) The double helix opens up some more
c) DNA polymerase begins to build new strands onto the original strands
d) The two new helices start to coil up into two new DNA molecules
e) New strands of DNA are started as enzymes connect the pieces of the growing strands together
