Why did the era of nuclei end when the universe was about 380,000 years old?

since most straws are made of plastic, they are hard to be broken down, even by the forces of nature.   sometimes, this trash can end up at sea and can cause sea turtles to choke upon this when initially perceived that the straw is a source of food.
