What trait do the mushroom and gecko share that the tree lacks?

Mushroom is a type of fungi usually grows in moist wet soil, trees bark and gecko is a lizard which belongs to reptile group usually found in rain forests, deserts and mountains. The trait which is  common in mushroom and gecko is their mode of nutrient intake. Both mushroom and gecko are hetrotrophic organisms that are dependent on other organisms for their fullfill their food requirements. As, mushroom decomposes dead remains of plants and animals to obtain their own food and gecko feeds upon insects. Trees lacks hetrotrophic  mode of nutrition because they are autotrophs (prepare their own food through photosynthesis).
