High-energy electrons are ultimately responsible for driving the

photosynthetic reactions due to the following:

Light energy from the Sun excites the electrons in the plants which provides

them with energy for movement through membranes.

The high energy electrons help transform ADP and NADP into ATP and

NADPH respectively which are then used in the light-independent stage to

create sugar which is the final product of photosynthesis.
