How do reflexes protect the body from injuries

Reflexes keep your body safe because it helps you react faster when your in danger. For example, if someone throws a football at your face, you can react quicker so you dont get hurt.

The way that it protects you from injurys is:
There is the Stretch reflex which coordinates the opposite muscle (antagonist)  to the primary mover (agonist) to lengthen its fibers.  As an example when you flex your forearm by contracting the bicep, the tricep relaxes and lengthens.  If the tricep did !not relax and lengthen then you would be unable to move or would tear the tricep.
