There are several environmental factors that affect diffusion rates. First of all, we need to define what the term diffusion means. Diffusion is the rate at which molecules combine with each other. They move from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration. The following environmental factors affect diffusion rates:1. Temperature. A higher temperature increases the rate of the molecular movement and vice-versa.2. Pressure. The higher the pressure the faster the molecules move and vice-versa.3. Weight. The heavier the molecules the slower they move so the rate of diffusion slows down.
