And dont just look over it cause it looks long, it is my final question, will rate high if correct dont guess u ! imagine you have two closely related species of bacteria; one that thrives in fresh-water environments and consumes hydrocarbons (such as oil) as a food source, and another that thrives in marine environments and uses small organic molecules such as simple sugars as food. you are seeking a better way to clean up oil spills in marine environments. how might you use your knowledge of these two species of bacteria and biotechnology to clean oil in marine environments? i would attempt to create a transgenic species in which the genes for oil consumption were introduced into the marine species. i would introduce the fresh water, oil eating bacteria into the marine environment in hopes that it would adapt to the marine environment. i would mix the bacteria together in a container in hopes that they would breed and produce a hybrid species capable of degrading oil in marine environments. i would place the fresh water species in a container with oil in hopes that it would start to consume the oil.
