The tropical zone is a region of the earth that is situated between the tropic of cancer and the tropic of Capricorn. The tropical zone is characterized by hot temperature throughout the year, and high rainfall. The average temperature of the tropical zone is between 20 to 30°C.

The temperate zone is a region of the earth that is situated between the subtropics and the polar circles. The temperate zone is characterized by wider temperature changes (between summer and winter) throughout the year.  

The polar region is a region of the earth that is situated around the North Pole or the South Pole. The northern polar region is mostly made up of floating and pack ice that floats on the Arctic Ocean, and surrounded by land masses.  

Tropical Zone: This zone is is known to have the highest insolation. This rain  forest climate normally occurs close to the equator. It area has sinking air, calm winds and rainfalls. The rainfall is heavy, more than 200 cm annually.

The temperate zone: This zone has a hotter climate in the summer season and colder climate in the winter season. This region has an average rainfall and a wide variety of species.

Polar Zone: The polar zone has lowest insolation. This zone is the coldest zone receiving very small proportion of sunlight.
