Many scientists wants to get rid of the kingdom protists because a variety of organisms were present in this phylum and it became very confusing to understand it properly.

Some of the the organisms were moved out of the the phylum protists based on the characters.

Some of the organisms having the similar characteristics were moved into the phylum.
