How can we prevent premature extinction of species?

We can start by stopping global warming and tree-cutting around the world. Those are killing animals' habitats. We should also probably stop hunting a lot and maybe stop putting animals in zoos? I don't think zoos are that great for animals since their just artificial homes for them, but I haven't read anything stating that claim nor going against it, just an assumption
