After the small intestine, the next structure in the alimentary canal is large intestine, most precisely its part-cecum.  

Alimentary canal (digestive tract) is the gut of animals (including humans) which includes the mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and anus. The function of the alimentary canal is to carry food from the digestion to the excretion.
