Patient is an active 13-year-old girl. She came to the office today because she's been having diarrhea with abdominal cramps and vomiting for the past three days. She's
thirsty but has not been urinating frequently and says that her urine is dark colored. She
is frustrated because she has not been able to go to school and had to miss playing in a
big soccer game. She is tired and does not have much energy. Patient does not have an
appetite and complains that she is not able to hold down any fluids or food when she
does try to eat or drink. Patient is not experiencing muscle aches or leg cramps, but gets
light-headed when getting up too fast.
The patient shows no signs of congestion, and the ear, nose, and throat all appear
normal.
