What proportion of overweight u. s. adults have maintained at least a 10% weight loss for at least a year?

National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) examined weight data of US adults from 1999-2006. Results showed that the proportion of overweight or obese adults that have maintained LTWLM or long-term weight loss maintenance of at least 10% for at least 1 year is 17.3 %.  LTWLM of at least 10% was reported to be higher among adults whose ages ranged from 75–84 years. It was concluded also that more than one out of every six obese US adults has accomplished LTWLM of at least 10%.
