How is a property tax similar to and different from an income tax?

Income tax is deducted from your income and property tax is dependent on what you own.   tax on property is regulated by local government  (state/city) whereas tax on income is regulated at the federal level.   both taxes are alike in that they are a percentage of value/what you make to determine what you are required to pay.  both types  tax can be taken out yearly or monthly depending on how the taxes are set up.  the tax you pay on income is a percentage so it varies based on the amount of money you make.   property tax is based on the item, the items value and can fluctuate with the change in the market value. although each tax is regulated by a different level of government both are regulated and must be paid by a deadline set each year.
