There are two main sources of oil pollution: The biggest source of oil pollution which enormously accounts eight percent (80%) to the marine environment comes from the land which is known as RUNOFF. These are oils on roads and other surfaces that has been flushed into the sea during rainstorms. Since the contemporary times are abundantly utilizing cars as means of transportation has a tendency to drip oil on the ground especially on impermeable concrete or asphalt that ends up trickling into the ocean.

 In addition, oil spills from leisure boats, tankers, ships and others. The organic compounds from the oil may affect the wildlife and humans in so many ways. One of which is that  some of the hazardous oil components it may irritate the skin and penetrate into our bodies. Another is through inhalation. Miniscule particles may suspend in the air and inhaled. It could also contaminate our food since most of our protein sources comes from the fishes.
