Give two examples of producers and two examples of consumers.

Producer: Plants, trees, chemosynthetic bacteria

Consumers: Grasshoppers, Deer , Lions

The terms producers and consumers are used when we are studying the food chains etc.

In a food chain there are different levels which are linked with each other based on their food requirements.

The food chain starts with producers, the organism which produces their own food either in presence of sunlight or absence of sunlight with other chemicals

Example of producers are: Trees, phytoplanktons, chemosynthetic bacteria.

Then the food synthesized by producers is being consumed by the next stage organism of the food chain known as consumers. These include the herbivores which are primary consumers as they feed on the plants and then carnivores which are secondary consumers as they feed on the primary consumers.

Example : Deer is a primary consumers

Lion is a secondary consumer.

a rain shadow is a dry region of land on the side that is protected against the prevailing winds of a mountain range. the prevailing winds are the winds that occur most of the time in a particular place of the earth

prevailing winds carry air toward the mountain range. as the air rises up over a mountain range, the air cools, water vapor condenses, and clouds form. on this side of the mountains, called the windward side, precipitation falls in the form of  rain  or snow. this dry air produces a  rain shadow.
