Describe how atp synthase works. understand the organization of the fof1 atp synthase: fo provides a proton channel and rotates around an axis perpendicular to the plane of the membrane (like a turbine); the f1 portion consists of three αβ-dimers and a γ shaft which connects the fo and f1 portions; as the fo rotates the shaft rotates within the f1 portion. how does it take advantage of the created proton gradient to aid in phosphorylation of adp? this is the grand finale to chemiosmotic coupling.

the ideal gas law equation is as follows

pv = nrt

where p - pressure

v - volume

n - number of moles

r - universal gas constant

t - temperature

so if the pressure, volume and temperature are already known

we are left with n and r

since r is the universal gas constant that has a known fixed value then r too is known

so we are left with 'n'

once we know temperature volume and pressure

we can find the number of moles of gas present using the ideal gas law equation
