Helium is used in a laboratory as carrier gas for a gas chromatograph. the helium is stored as a pressurized gas in a cylinder initially at 4000 psig and is slowly withdrawn from the cylinder. it is important that the helium pressure at the gas chromatograph is constant at 45 psig, with a simple single-stage pressure regulator (set at 45 psig) installed between the helium cylinder and the chromatograph. in another project in this lab, liquefied ammonia is stored in a tank and is withdrawn as pure vapor for an experiment, a single stage regulator is used between the tank and the experiment.
use at maximum one page to explain:
what might happen to the delivery pressure of the ammonia and the helium to the experiment and the gaschromatograph, respectively, over time until the tank and cylinder, respectively, are emptied? why?
