Acylinder (200 cm in length and 50 cm2 in cross-sectional area) is fitted with the piston which is connected to a spring that obeys hooke's law witha 2x106 dynes/cm force constant. hooke's law states that the force exerted by a spring is linearly proportional to the spring elongation and acts in a different opposite to the elongation. the chamber containing the spring is evacuated, while the other chamber contains 0.1 moles of helium initally at 25 degrees celcius and 1 bar. the system is initally at equilibrium.
the helium chamber is heated slowly until the temperature reaches 200 degrees celcius. assuming that the piston is frictionless and has negligible mass and thermal conductivity and that helium can be treated as an ideal gas of constant heat capacity cp = 20.9 j/mol k,
(a) what is the pressure of the helium when temperature reaches 200 degrees celcius?
(b) how much heat is required?
(c) what is the entopy change of the gas, the surroundings and the universe for the process?

For a research project, a student decided to test the effect of the lead(ii) ion (pb2+) on the ability of salmon eggs to hatch. this ion was obtainable from the water‐soluble salt, lead(ii) nitrate, which the student decided to make by the following reaction. pbo(s) + 2 hno3(aq) → pb(no3)2(aq) + h2o losses of product for various reasons were expected, and a yield of 86.0% was expected. in order to have 5.00 g of product at this yield, how many grams of pbo should be reacted? (assume that sufficient nitric acid, hno3, would be used.)

what is your question? collegechemistry 5+3 pts in november 1987, a massive iceberg broke loose from the antartic ice mass and floated free in the ocean. the chunk of ice was estimated to be 98 mi long, 25 mi wide, and 750 ft thick. a typical backyard swimming pool contains about 24,000 gallons of water. how many of these pools could you fill from the water in this iceberg? (assume the iceberg is a rectangular solid of the above dimensions and consists of water only). express answer in scientific notation.
