The following data were obtained for the gas phase decomposition of nitrogen dioxide at 300oC, NO2(g) NO(g) + ½ O2 Time (sec) 0.5, 10, 20, 30, NO2. Pressure(atms) 0.1, 0.0787, 0.0649, 0.0481, 0.0380. We can use pressure as a unit of concentration for a gas since we know from the ideal gas law that the pressure is directly proportional to the number of moles per unit volume.
A. Determine the order of the reaction with respect to NO2.
B. Determine the value of the rate constant (K).
