In medicine, nuclear chemistry (radioactive elements) is used to diagnose and identify the diseases. A radioactive material is used as a tracer in which patient swallows the radioactive element and the camera is used to take the images in the organ where radioactive element is targeted.  The diagnosis is done this way. The techniques used are position image tomography and single -photon emission tomography, magnetic resonance sonography and ultrasound. The disease diagnosed are gall bladder disorders, thyroid problems, cancers, dementia and many more.

The use of this diagnostic technique has minimized the process as no surgery is required to diagnose.
