Homogeneous reaction conditions have some advantages over heterogeneous reactions (such as the biphasic Oxidation of Borneol lab described in the lab manual).
For example, efficient stirring may not be as critical. Isopropanol (i. e. 2-propanol) is an organic solvent that is miscible with water.
Imagine someone proposed using isopropanol instead of ethyl acetate as the organic solvent as a possible improvement to the experiment.
Why would that be a bad idea? There is a very specific reason to expect that this would not work, so your answer should be specific.

The diagrams show objectsβ gravitational pull toward each other. which statement describes the relationship between diagram x and y? gravity attracts only larger objects toward one another. gravity attracts larger objects only if they are close to one another. if the masses of the objects increase, then the force between them also increases. if distance between the objects increases, then the amount of force also increases.

Hydrogenation reactions, in which h2 and an "unsaturated" organic compound combine, are used in the food, fuel, and polymer industries. in the simplest case, ethene (c2h4) and h2 form ethane (c2h6). if 140 kj is given off per mole of c2h4 reacting, how much heat (in mj) is released when 12 kg of c2h6 forms?
