1) Natural processes can cause gradual or sometimes sudden changes to the planet, and some of these changes may
adversely affect life on Earth. While we cannot stop natural processes such has volcanoes and storm systems from
occurring, we can try to be better prepared for their inevitability. For example, satellite monitoring of weather patterns
can usually identify developing severe weather and lead to its reliable forecast so we can take measures to protect
ourselves and our property. Long ago, when prediction was far from a reality, there were several ice ages. These ice
ages helped to shape man's history. How? ALL BUT ONE may apply.
A)
Glaciation was the impetus for human migration to areas more hospitable
to life on Earth.
B)
Man is much less genetically diverse than he could be due to isolation
during times of glaciation.
The rise of agriculture about 10,000 years ago coincides with shifting
climates after the end of the last glaciation.
D)
Receding glaciers and warming trends help to establish great freshwater
lakes that contributed to community development of humans in specific
areas
