Reshma is a student of class 10. Her teacher was teaching the type of chemical reaction in the class. Reshma was asked to carry out the reaction of electrolysis of water in the laboratory. She set up the complete apparatus for the electrolysis of water. She took pure water to carry out this reaction. When Reshma passed electric current through this water for a considerable time, even then no chemical reaction took place. She told this problem to her classmate Deena. She asked Reshma to add a little dil. H2SO4 into pure water to make water a good conductor of electricity before passing electric current through it. When electric current was passed, then chemical reaction took place to form two gases X and Y. The volume of gas X collected over one of the electrodes was 8 ml whereas the volume of gas Y collected over the other electrode was 16ml. (a)What is gas X? At which electrode gas X is evolved?
(b)What is gas Y? At which electrode gas Y is evolved?
(c) Write the balanced chemical equation for the reaction

Lab reagent, hypothesis test.a reference solution used as a lab reagent is purported to have a concentration of 5 mg/dl. six samples are taken from this solution and the following concentrations are recorded: (5.32, 4.88, 5.10, 4.73, 5.15, 4.75) mg/dl.these six measurements are assumed to be an srs of all possible measurements from solution.they are also assumed to have a standard deviation of 0.2, a normal distributin, and a mean concentration equal to the true concentration of the solution.carry out a significance test to determine whether these six measurements provide reliable evidence that the true concentration of the solution is actually not 5 mg/dl.
