A diagram could be a model. *
A model is a representation of something in nature or a
prototype of an idea or solution important to engineering.
Models often represent phenomenon that are difficult to observe
directly. A model is often a three-dimensional, physical structure
but it does NOT have to be. A model can be an equation, diagram
or drawing. In fact, equations, diagrams and drawings are often
used to model very complex ideas in a simple way.
