Explanation: Solar Wind is a stream of charged particles, called Plasma, released from the surface of the sun. It is formed by the expansion of plasma from the Sun's outermost surface, known as Corona.

Inside the Sun, 4 atoms of hydrogen transform into Helium by a nuclear reaction called Fusion. This reaction produces energy, which travels to the surface. There, it decomposes into plasma, where it continues to heat up.

When the Sun's gravity can't hold it down, the gas streams along the Sun's magnetic field line. Because of the rotation of the Sun, the lines form huge spiral, creating a constant flow of "wind". They extend so far, it generates an interplanetary magnetic field (IMF), which surrounds all the planets in our solar system.
