Hello! I have been stuck on this chemistry question for a while now, and I can't figure it out :( It covers the topic called Specific Heat and Capacity. I would really appreciate your help with this question! Thank you so much :)
To measure the ΔH(soln) for NaCl, a student adds 150.0 g of water at 22.0ºC to a calorimeter and then also adds in 12.0 grams of NaCl(s), stirring to dissolve. After the NaCl is completely dissolved, the maximum temperature reached is 44.3ºC.
a) Calculate the amount of heat absorbed by the solution during the dissolution process. The specific heat of the solution is 4.18 J/(g•ºC).
b) Find the value of ΔH(soln) for the NaCl in KJ mol-1 of reaction.
