So that the two quantities between pH and [H⁺] are inversely proportional because they are associated with negative values.

So pH 3 and pH 4 have a difference in the concentration of H⁺ ion of 10¹ = 10

pH 3 = -log[10⁻³]

pH 4 = - log[10⁻⁴]

And pH 3 is stronger in acid than pH 4
