ACTIVITY 1 Title: How does sedimentation occur in mixing sand in a glass of water?
Materials: sand, glass of water, glasses/ bottle
III. Procedure:
Prepare the materials needed.
Put the sand into the glass of water then stir it.
When you have stirred it for about 10 seconds leave the glass and don’t touch it for about 15 minutes.
Observe what happen.
Pour the liquid carefully in another glass without disturbing the sediments.
IV. Guide Questions:
1. Identify the color of the glass of water while you stir it.

2. What happen to the mixture after leaving it in 15 minutes?

3. Can you separate the water from a sand?

How can you separate the mixture?

What process is used to separate the mixture?

ACTIVITY 2
