Rosy put a battery in a beaker of tap water. She observed gas bubbles coming from the positive and negative ends of the battery, as shown in the video below. She tested the bubbles and found that some of the bubbles were made of hydrogen gas (H_2) and some were made of oxygen gas (O_2) .

Draw, explain, or describe a model that shows the chemical reaction of water changing into hydrogen and oxygen gas. Be sure to include the appropriate reactants, products, and number of each molecule in your model. You can cut and paste the models below using the snipping tool to make your own, you can describe your model in an audio clip, or you can print, draw, scan, and upload.

Draw, explain, or discuss your model here:

2) What happens during the reaction to the atoms of the water molecules?

3) How does your model explain why mass is conserved during this reaction.
