A company needs to engineer an instant hot pack for athletes. The hot pack must release heat through a chemical reaction. The company cannot use more than 15 grams of a solid chemical to make sure they keep the cost down. They also cannot use more than 15 mL of a liquid chemical so the pack can be portable. The company’s goal is to get a hot pack that is closest to 40℃ without going above that temperature. Here are the results of testing three prototypes.
