4 limiting factors could be water, space, pollution, and access to mates, could all be factors in limiting the native population. Water, could be affected by pollution, and this would remove water, which means that no living things would be able to survive, or at the best be hindered in its growth. Space could be removed by deforestation, or simple water rising, and this could kill off the population, thus removing mates for the population. prevailing winds carry air toward the mountain range. as the air rises up over a mountain range, the air cools, water vapor condenses, and clouds form. on this side of the mountains, called the windward side, precipitation falls in the form of  rain  or snow. this dry air produces a  rain shadow.
