A large car manufacturer is suspected of polluting the water supply of your town. You know the company uses aqueous lead (Pb4+(aq)) in its factory and you have a hunch that somehow this lead is finding its way into the groundwater. You have a sample of groundwater taken from a site near the property of the plant. Any aqueous lead can be removed if it forms a precipitation with an appropriate anion. How could you go about removing lead from the sample of groundwater? Identify an anion that could be used to remove any Pb4+(aq) ions. Write down the net ionic equation of the reaction that would take place.
