Ariana and Alissa performed the synthesis of Ag2SO4. They measured a known mass of AgNO3, dissolved the salt in water and added this solution to an excess of aqueous K2SO4. They filtered the precipitate of silver sulfate, rinsed it with distilled water, and let it dry overnight. Next day, the mass of silver sulfate was measured. The collected results are shown in the Data Table below.
2 AgNO3(aq) + K2SO4(aq) ร  Ag2SO4(s) + 2 NaNO3(aq)

After doing the calculations of the theoretical yield and the percent yield, Ariana reports the % yield to be 91.0%, while Alissa claims it is 83.5%. Explain, by doing the corresponding calculations, which of the two students is correct.
Mass of watch glass
2.589 g

Mass of watch glass + AgNO3

5.739 g

Mass of beaker
15.486 g

Mass of beaker + Ag2SO4

Read these sentences from the text. near the equator, the tropics receive the most rain on a consistent basis. as a result, the fresh water falling into the ocean decrease the salinity of the surface water in that region. [. .] . . as the salt content of sea water increases, so does its density. what can you infer about how rain affects the density of surface water near the equator?

Many reactions take place in aqueous solution. when potential reactants are mixed, a reaction will occur if there is some driving force that favors the formation of products. it is often convenient to categorize reactions in terms of these driving forces: precipitate formation, in which an insoluble solid is formed, weak electrolyte formation, as in a neutralization reaction involving water, or transfer of electrons, as in a redox reaction. these reactions can be represented by full molecular equations, which contain all species in the reaction mixture, or by net ionic equations, which show only the species that actually undergo a change. the latter does not contain the spectator ions, which do not undergo a net change or do not take part in the reaction. part a when the following two solutions are mixed: k2co3(aq)+fe(no3)3(aq) the mixture contains the ions listed below. sort these species into spectator ions and ions that react. drag the appropriate items to their respective bins. view available hint(s) spectator ions ions that react part b what is the correct net ionic equation, including all coefficients, charges, and phases, for the following set of reactants? assume that the contribution of protons from h2so4 is near 100 %.ba(oh)2(aq)+h2so4(aq)โ†’ express your answer as a chemical equation. view available hint(s) nothing provide feedback
