Explain why it is not a good idea to stand outside in a thunderstorm and wait for lightning to strike (as many stories about ben franklin say he did). use the words "electrical charge," "conductor," and "insulator" at least once someone me with this. i obviously do know the result of standing and waiting for lightning to strike outside but i am not sure how to add the words "electrical charge" "conductor" and "insulator" into my paragraphs.

Each of the following reactions is allowed to come to equilibrium and then the volume is changed as indicated. predict the effect (shift right, shift left, or no effect) of the indicated volume change. drag the appropriate items to their respective bins.co(g) + h2o(g) < => co2(g) + h2(g) (volume is decreased) pcl3(g) + cl2(g) < => pcl5(g) (volume is increased) caco3(s)< => cao(s) + co2(g) (volume is increased)

)benzene and toluene form nearly ideal solutions. consider an equimolar solution of benzene and toluene. at 20 °c the vapour pressures of pure benzene and toluene are 9.9 kpa and 2.9 kpa, respectively. the solution is boiled by reducing the external pressure below the vapour pressure. calculate (i) the pressure when boiling begins, (ii) the composition of each component in the vapour, and (iii) the vapour pressure when only a few drops of liquid remain. assume that the rate of vaporization is low enough for the temperature to remain constant at 20 °c.

Hydrogenation reactions, in which h2 and an "unsaturated" organic compound combine, are used in the food, fuel, and polymer industries. in the simplest case, ethene (c2h4) and h2 form ethane (c2h6). if 140 kj is given off per mole of c2h4 reacting, how much heat (in mj) is released when 12 kg of c2h6 forms?
