Both humans and bacteria need a certain place or host (in bacteria) in order to procreate. Both also need 'food' in order to grow. Humans take in fresh food, while food of bacteria differs depending on what kind of bacteria it is. For example, necrotizing fasciitis, also known as the flesh-eating bacteria. Both need sources in order to survive. And both possess the smallest functional units called cells.
